the Monthly Montreal Comix Jam: venue change

Attention Comix Jam artists and friends, For 2 years now the Monthly Montreal Comix Jam has been meeting at Casa del Popolo every last Wednesday of the month.



For the jams on …

- Nov 27th 2002

- Jan 29th 2003

- Feb 26th 2003

…we will be meeting in unit 802, in the group of N studio space on the 8th floor of 10 Ontario w on the south west corner of Ontario and St Laurent steps from the St Laurent Metro



In addition to the usual jamming fun we will be showing portfolios, sketchbooks, swapping zines and other stuff.



Wednesday Nov 27th :I’ll be bringing the new issue of the Jam Zine (if you have work in it you get yours free). It will be on display and available for $3.



In addition I’ll be making a sketchbook zine of my own recent work & rough doodles, I encourage all to slap one together and bring a handful to sell & swap. Room will be made available on a ‘Zine table’



If you want to bring some art to show and sell possibly feel free to.

Try to keep it small, nothing bigger than a poster or several small images.

I suggest dollarstore frames, what I’ll be using for a few prints of my own.



Wednesday Jan 29th :Planning to hold something along the lines of a commix decode

Some other suggestions for stuff to bring to a Jam:

- A portfolio or sketchbook to show others and swap in exchange for theirs.

- Magazine clippings and classifieds, notes on bits of paper, reference photos and anything else that be used to inspire and amuse.

- Something fun to draw with (something that will photocopy for reproduction), charcoal, brush and ink, black or dark crayons, pencil, pens, crow quill…

- Copies of zines books with your work, to show or sell.

- Copies of stuff you think is ‘the shit’ to wow and astonish your friends.
