The comics industry woke up today to a startling call for help: "Fantagraphics, one of the pillars of alternative comics publishing and a star of the bookstore revolution, was revealed to be in severe financial hardship, and was calling on readers to buy books to give them an immediate cash influx to help them get past the crunch."
