Local site The Comic Book Bin interviews Yanick Paquette & Michel Lacombe

Yanick Paquette, artist on Terra Obscura, Negation and Wonder Woman Was Interviews at the Montreal Comic Book Expo this fall.



Harry: What's the reaction so far? [to the book]



Yanick: I finished my part. It's difficult to say. You can't guess. Internet folks are freaks. Net fans only care about the fact that the characters are obscure. People see nostalgic stuff, but no one really knows these characters. For the sales, we always know that there will be a trade. We know people wait for the trade, like Promethean.>>>



Michel Lacombe was also interviewed at the Montreal Comic Book Expo. He's the creator of One Bloody Year, a 160 page vampire romance GN.



Harry: Who are your influences?



Michel : Steve Bissette, Byrne, Alan Moore, Totleben. Other great influences are Bernie Wrist on, Paulo Serpieri although he's more into porn and better known in Italy. There's also Frank Miller. People always compare me Charles Burns, but I haven't look his stuff much. More personally, I would say Yanick Paquette, Gabriel Morissette, Denis Rodier have been gig influences. >>>
