Some Stuff from the Toronto Comic Jam Discussion Group

:: Posted by max @ 5/16/2004 05:18:00 AM
Nadia posted this link to a page about riding the TTC in the Toronto Star by occasional Comic Jammer Christopher Hutsul. It's a PDF, so you'll need Acrobat to read it.

And if that inspires you to do your own gag comics, then this should be good news [also posted by Nadia]

From the latest issue of Maisonneuve:

"WANTED: Humorous illustrations and cartoons.

"Think snide and witty rather than cute and pretty. We look forward to your submissions."

Size: 3 x 3 inches

Prize: $50 per illustration

(should we find ourselves rolling on the floor in fits of laughter, gasping for breath)

Preference given to black & white illustrations."

There is a submissions guidelines page on their site here.

ED:I'm always weary when publishers describe it as a prize...But it's well red mag with international distribution so worth a shot at least.

'Revelation' points out that Dave Lapp has some illustrations featured in the Flaming Fire Illustrated Bible

The Beguiling's news letter is posted here: [The Beguiling] Manga & Anime Secret Sale! Mid-May Mailing!
