The Hump 01/19/05

slice of life. it's cold here...

Political Minded 4, Los Angeles 01/19/05

So I just got back from California, where it rained for a few weeks straight and the Californians were running around like their hair was on fire. We caught the tail end of the flooding, but after that, it went right back to being fine summer weather. That place is nuts.

Our show last friday night went off, we did the space (called The Space) up right in record time, we had three days to paint the walls, hang canvases, etc. Thanks again to Damian and Jamal of Cold Water Flat, those guys work their asses off for all the right reasons. We couldn't do it without them. Also thanks to Tom, Addison, and Jacob, who trusted us with their film equipment even though we were obviously a shifty bunch of Canadians. Chris H and Damon helped out, beyond the call, and Language from NY lowered his standards out of pure generosity and played a spectacular set for us. Last but not least, Serigraphe Chris and his assistant from NY were once again the stars of the night, throwing themselves against the voracious crowd of custom screen printed t-shirt junkies with no apparent concern for their own safety.

It was a massive party, way more people than I expected, the final tally somewhere near 500 souls, from what I'm told, all thanks to Tyler and the Cold Water Flat fellas. free beer and good times. Next I want to do it overseas, London or Tokyo perhaps. I'll keep you posted.
