Legendary Canadian Printer Bankrupt
:: Posted by Bryan @ 4/05/2006 04:50:00 AM Preney Print and Litho of Windsor, Ontario has gone out of business. A boutique printer of, among other things, comic books and graphic novels, Preney was a family-run business best known for printing most issues of Cerebus as well as the trade-paperbacks collecting Dave Sim's opus (elsewhere, I think, Sim has willed the Cerebus printing plates and related ephemera to the Preney brothers).
Rich Johnston reports on Preney's recent misadventures involving Eddie Campbell, Top Shelf, and From Hell originals. Johnston also hints that the end of Cerebus as a monthly series was the beginning of the end for the printer.
The remaining holdings of the business were recently auctioned here.Labels: Ontario
