Morlac wins Bedeis Causa

Leif Tande, Jacques Lamontagne, Big Winners

The winners of the Prix Bedeis Causa, one of the two most important annual comics prizes for Quebec comics, were announced yesterday at the 19th Annual Festival of Quebec Bande Dessinee (FBDFQ).

The winners are:

Prix Real-Filion: Jacques Lamontagne, for the first volume of his series Druides, published by Editions Soleil in France.

Le prix Coup de Coeur: Clear-line cartoonist Jean-Louis Tripp for his album Paroles d'anges (Glenat) --a series of love stories set in Quebec.

Prix Maurice Petitdidier (best foreign album): Juanjo Guarnido & Juan Diaz Canales for Blacksad.

Prix Albert-Chartier: publisher La Pasteque (the prize is given to an important mover in the Quebec comics world).

Grand Prize of the Town of Quebec: Morlac by Leif Tande, for his audacity and very personal style.
