Chester Brown Runs for Office
:: Posted by Bryan @ 9/16/2008 12:06:00 PM Cartoonist and graphic novelist Chester Brown has begun a bid for political office in Toronto. A long-time libertarian (following a youthful flirtation with anarchism), the creator of the Louis Riel and Ed the Happy Clown graphic novels has been persuaded to throw his hat into the ring in the upcoming federal election. Although not always evident in his art, Chester's economic views are well-known to anyone who has had a political discussion with him.
Chester intends to run for MP in Toronto's Trinity-Spadina area on the Libertarian Party ticket. To get his name on the ballot, he needs 100 signatures from eligible voters in the Trinity-Spadina riding. A nomination form is available at The Beguiling until Friday September 19.Labels: real world
