The winners of the 2011 Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards were announced yesterday at a ceremony taking place during the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. The popular hosts of television’s Hypaspace show, Ajay Fry and Teddy Wilson, were the MCs of the event.
The Winners are:

Outstanding Comic Book Cartoonist: TIN CAN FOREST (aka Pat Shewchuk and Marek Colek)
Outstanding Comic Book Colourist: JULIE ROCHELEAU
Outstanding Comic Book Cover Artist: FIONA STAPLES
Outstanding Comic Book Publisher: KOYAMA PRESS
Outstanding Web Comics Creator: EMILY CARROLL
Outstanding Comic Book Writer(s): ÉMILIE VILLENEUVE
