Well you know that sinking feeling?…

That Charlie’s got his kite stuck in the tree again feeling?

20! and i’ve got up to 31 loaded and ready to drop.

Nice feeling. New banner up top too, what i had in mind at the start but didn’t know how to code yet. Like?

I’m a bit concerned as I’ve not heard back from my printers this week, hopefully they are just busy. I’m getting a lot closer to being done and ready for TCAF, but at the same time the pile of things to do looks all the larger as the days go by! Going to be tight, but Sequential Pulp 2 is coming together to be awesome, and i’m feeling pretty good about Dream life assuming i can make that work too. Mostly it’s a question of putting $ in place in time.

Thinking aloud, wonder if offering pre-orders is a good idea, more stuff to manage but maybe? Anyone reading this interested? Hit the comments to let me know.

Suggested listening:
I’ve been meaning to do this but forgetting to look for music. Sound Tracks, always something missing from comics i felt. I put suggested listening on the first page of my first really big, professional gig at Marvel back in 93′ drawing Saint Sinner. It got cut but then saved by Clive himself. But after that mostly editors had it removed from my art and i got out of the habit of bothering. Terrible trend i must fight! Serious, really need to get reacquainted with music. Had an ex too long ago to be a good excuse, make me feel inferior about my taste in music and i got into listening to a lot of talk at the same time.

But, now i can just post a video! Cool. Recently, a childhood friend asked me to do art for his swing album. kind of excited about it. More working to music, is good yes.

So, music for the story: these two tracks stumbled my way tonight [ thanks to Rick Trembles and John Roberson ]. Perfect both in different ways for this dream scene.

The old Cabaret Voltaire is nostalgic for me, and fits here in my head well. The Sébastien Tellier clip’s soundtrack is closer to the sound i hear though. Play them in the background – not at the same time unless you’re into that kind of thing – while reading the story for extra ++? :) Sébastien Tellier you’ll probably just want to watch too….yes, i do think diamonds appear to come out of her ass….

So in other news, recently i uploaded and submitted a Zuda project with my new partner in crime, writer Mark Sable. We’re waiting now to see what happens, hope i didn’t click the wrong thing or something!

Fingers crossed we get the nod – as a stable side gig for a year it would be ideal, I’m really liking working in this format and i’m really into the story so far. Hope hope hope. Preparing to do as much promoting as i can stomach if we’re in the contest. Rather be drawing but until i have a press agent of some kind…

The story is something Mark brought to me last winter, it’s been really fun to work on with him. He’s been quite gracious and let me get into the writing side as a full collaborator which makes for a really rewarding working experience. We had a great back and forth doing our story for Comic Book Tattoo [up side down] and Mark was really into doing some more stuff together in the same manor. I was tilting at a windmill at the time but soon as i got done with that i got in touch with him about taking a whack at something. Look forward to telling you more about it soon.
